Copy from another course
The Outcomes tab and the Units of Focus tab each include a Copy from another course button. This lets you pull published content from any other course at your school directly into the course you are editing, without leaving the editor.
Only published curriculum from other courses is available as a source. Draft and working-copy content is not shown.
Step 1 — Find a course
Click Copy from another course to open the pull panel. The panel shows a searchable list of all other active courses at your school.
- Type in the search box to filter courses by name.
- If your school has more than ten courses, use the Previous and Next buttons to page through the results.
- Click any course name to move to Step 2.
Step 2 — Select items to copy
After selecting a course the panel shows the published content available to import.
On the Outcomes tab
Each outcome from the source course appears as a checkable row. All outcomes are pre-selected by default. Uncheck any you do not want.
On the Units of Focus tab
Units are shown as cards. Each card displays:
- The unit title — selectable individually.
- The sub-items (essential questions, subtopics, skills) grouped beneath the title — each selectable individually.
Use Select all on any card to check the title and every sub-item at once.
"Already added" items
Items that already exist in the current course are marked Already added and cannot be selected. This prevents accidental duplicates.
Step 3 — Add selected
Click Add selected to copy the checked items into the current course. The panel closes and the items appear in the tab as a staged draft change.
Copied content behaves exactly like content you typed yourself. You can edit, reorder, or delete it before saving.
Clicking the back arrow ( ‹ ) in the panel header returns you to the course search list without importing anything.
Saving
Copied items are not saved until you click Save Draft (or Submit for Review). If you close the editor without saving, the copied content will be lost.
See Course editor overview for details on the save and submit workflow.
