Editing and deleting a course
Course metadata (name, discipline, division, grade, AP flag, archived status) is edited from the Course Map admin panel. Course content (description, outcomes, resources, units, lesson plans) is edited from the Courses list. You must be an admin to edit course metadata or delete a course.
Editing course metadata (admin, Course Map panel)
-
Open Course Map in the sidebar.
-
Click Open Course Panel on the right.
-
Locate the course in the panel list. Use the search box to filter. Active and archived courses are shown in separate tabs.
-
Click the edit (green) icon next to the course name. An edit form opens in the panel with the following fields:
- Course name
- Discipline
- Division
- Grade
- Is AP (checkbox)
- Archived (checkbox). Archiving hides the course from active lists and prevents it from being added to the map. It remains visible in the Show Archived view on the Courses list.
-
Make your changes and click Save.
Editing course content (Courses list)
Any user who is assigned to the course (or is the department chair for an assigned teacher) can open and edit course content:
- Open Courses in the sidebar.
- Find the course and click the edit (pencil) icon in the Actions column. If you can only view and not edit, you will see a view icon instead.
- Edit content across the tabs: Description, Outcomes, Resources, Units of Focus, and Lesson Plans. See Course editor overview for details on each tab.
Deleting a course (admin, Course Map panel)
- Open the Course Map panel as described above.
- Click the delete (red trash) icon next to the course.
Deleting a course removes it permanently. Any course alignment data associated with that course, including connections in the course map and alignment grid, will also be deleted.
